Description
Summary:Despite the improvements registered during recent years, Latin America remains, according to the indicators, the most unequal region in the world. This has made room for the so-called "Latin American paradox", characterized by the tenacious relationship between democracy and inequality. In an attempt to fathom the origin of the paradox, the article uses some figurative categories of Norbert Elias to study the Argentine case, which allows the dimension of affect to be integrated into the social analysis, in an unusual and promising perspective in analytical and political terms.
