Summary: | This contribution considers the main paradigms of cultural economics, and their consequences in terms of research results and policies recommendations. The "cost disease" is the first one analyzed. More relevant in the context of globalization and digitalization, the second paradigm deals with the structural uncertainty of the cultural goods resulting directly from their intrinsic creativity and novelty. The third part of this contribution analyzes the current arguments underlining the contribution of cultural activities to sustainable development. Finally, we present the logic of this special Issue and the contents of the corresponding contributions. [PUB ABSTRACT] Reproduced by permission of Bibliothèque de Sciences Po |
