Summary:A hydrophilic versatile polymeric monolith with multiple retention mechanisms including hydrogen-bonding, π-π and electrostatic interactions, was developed by a simple one-step in situ polymerization. High mechanical stability and excellent separation capabilities of various nonpolar and polar analytes were successfully achieved and employed for multiple separations in mixed-mode chromatography.
