Summary: | This conference had a relatively simple aim: to explore how museums and archaeology can work together in identifying, interpreting, and potentially displaying or publishing the finds from battlefield investigations. There was a good range of case-studies, and the papers examined largely black powder sites, with one 11th-century battlefield, and two 16th-century underwater shipwrecks. Aside from the final paper, none of the case studies involved sites later than the mid-17th century; the range of the case studies illustrated the diversity of sites and artifacts currently being researched through conflict archaeology.
