Description
Summary:ABSTRACTA 19-year-old girl presented with lower abdominal pain. Pelvic ultrasound showed a large cystic mass in the pelvic cavity, and CA19-9 was markedly elevated. On further evaluation, F-FDG PET/CT showed heterogeneous, localized FDG uptake with a central photon defect in the pelvic cavity, and most intense FDG uptake was noted in the anterior portion of lesion adjacent to the ileum. Corresponding enhanced CT showed a cystic mass abutting the ileum with wall thickening. Laparoscopic resection was done and the histologic result was adenocarcinoma arising in Meckel’s diverticulum.
