Summary:Intramedullary screw fixation is widely accepted as the gold standard for management of a Jones fracture. Although other management options exist, ISF is the one most frequently utilized for athletes. Further research is needed to identify the best approach to allow return to play without high risk for reinjury. Use of a bone stimulator may enhance the rate of bone healing.
