Description
Summary:A series of collagen-based hydrogel nanocomposites were prepared and applied as dye adsorbents. The certain variables affecting the dye adsorption such as initial concentration of dye solution, pH value, contact time and montmorilonite content were investigated to achieve maximum removal of Methylene Green (MG) and Crystal Violet (CV) from aqueous solutions. The experimental data showed that more than 90% of the maximum adsorption capacities of the optimized sample for MG and CV were achieved within the initial 10 min. Three isotherm models were carried out to describe adsorption capacity of the adsorbents.
