Description
Summary:This article takes up the great question about social order from historical and epistemological perspectives. First, the author analyses society's inception as a relatively autonomous formation. Drawing from a critical reading of L. Dumont's and M. Guchet's historical epistemologies, he establishes a relationship between sociology and anti-utilitarian theories of action. Then, the author goes on to develop a frame for the meta-theoretical analysis of social theory, basing his arguments on T. Parsons. At the same time, he reviews different solutions to the problem of the social order: the cognitive (Husserl), the normative (Parsons), the communicational (Habermas), the affective (Sheler), and the one based on the gift (Mauss).
