Summary: | Micro-Abstract Blood samples and data from breast cancer survivors who were overweight and/or obese (n = 220) in a weight loss study were analyzed to assess effects of weight loss on hormones and biologic factors. Weight loss was associated with decreased insulin and leptin, and increased sex hormone binding globulin, and reduced bioavailable estradiol in postmenopausal women. These changes suggested improved prognosis with weight reduction. |
