Summary:INTRODUCTION: Spatial disorientation is well known contributor of air craft accidents, Iraqi air force losses 2 helicopters in degraded visibility condition and a high possibility of spatial disorientation as cause of accident, the training is one of the most important measure for pilots to cope with flying condition that predispose to SD, one of these measures is demonstration of vestibular illusion by using Barany chair. METHODS: there are 41 Iraqi airforce pilots were trained on how to detect the occurrence of spatial disorientation and how they can deals with this problem. RESULTS: 1 - 41 Iraqi pilots were trained in Iraqi airforce facilities. 2- All of 41 pilots were got vestibular illusion during the training and in different maneuvers. 3- Showing the significance of sudden head movements in getting the vestibular illusion. DISCUSSION: showing the vestibular illusion for pilots is very important to avoid inflight incapacitation resulting from the SD, and at the same time showing the necessity to conduct the fully equipped aeromedical center for Iraqi Airforce.
