Summary: | Suchman et al recently suggested a relationship between intravenous methylprednisolone pulse therapy and a seizure in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The authors have reviewed their experience with using pulse therapy in SLE. Between 1978 and 1982, 18 patients with SLE were treated with pulse therapy (1 gm of intravenous methylprednisolone daily for 3 days). Three patients without active central nervous system (CNS) disease developed neurologic manifestations following PT. |
