Summary: | Tabulated and graphical data are presented on the concentrations of iron, manganese, copper, chromium, lead, zinc, mercury, and cadmium in sediments from river, river mouths, and coastal waters along the southeast coast of India. Metal concentrations increased with distance from the shoreline. The particle size of the sediment was important, with more metals being associated with finer particles. High concentrations of cadmium and lead were found; other metals were present at background concentrations. |
