Description
Summary:A high-pressure liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for determination of nitrate and nitrite in water is considered to have the advantages of ready availability of C18 or equivalent columns, a simple solvent system (a mobile phase of tetramethylammonium phosphate) and potential for more rapid flow rates to decrease analysis time. The system operates with a low back pressure (6890 kPa). Interference from anions is low. The accuracy and sensitivity of the method have prompted recommendation for its adoption as a routine procedure for water analysis in place of the ultraviolet screening method.
