Summary: | The bearing capacity of foundation beds continues to remain an urgent problem at the present time in connection with growth in the volume of industrial and civil construction and the need to design reliable and economic structures. Evaluation of bed strength and structure stability, the need for which is specified by current regulatory documents, is performed with a different degree of reliability on the basis of the use of different approximation methods, and solutions of problems of the theory of limiting equilibrium, and also linearly elastic and elastoplastic problems. From the computation of foundation beds and earth structures, preference has recently turned to different alternative schemes of the theory of flow in which both associative and nonassociative laws of plastic flow are used. |
