Rapid, sensitive, gas chromatographic determination of diethyl malonate and diethyl succinate in water facilitated by sorbent-tube preconcentration

A technique is presented for determining diethyl malonate and diethyl succinate in water, which is based on the vapour-phase pre-concentration if solvent extracts on solid sorbent pre-concentrator tubes, followed by thermal desorption of the tubes into a gas chromatograph. Description
Summary:A technique is presented for determining diethyl malonate and diethyl succinate in water, which is based on the vapour-phase pre-concentration if solvent extracts on solid sorbent pre-concentrator tubes, followed by thermal desorption of the tubes into a gas chromatograph. Results achieved using the technique are reported with chromatograms and it is concluded that the method is relatively simple, rapid, and sensitive. A bibliography of 7 references is appended.
