Summary:The authors have tested different concentrations of eserine, the specific inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), on the AChE of tissues of Tilapia mossambica and found that it induced the same degree of inhibition of AChE as occurred in the tissues of fish exposed to malathion. Though the extent of inhibition was the same, both the inhibitory potency, and the effect on enzyme-substrate affinity were different.
