Description
Summary:A stepwise multiple regression procedure was used to analyse correlations between environmental variables in a coastal salt pond, and the variation in abundance and distribution of a phytoplankton community. The results show that multiple variable interaction is more important in explaining seasonal variations in phytoplankton population, and the structure of the phytoplankton community, as measured by species diversity and dominance, than single limiting factors. A bibliography of 33 references is appended.
