The anamorph consists of terminal and thick-walled conidia, similar to those in Thermoascus aurantiacus Miehe. The peridium consists of a more or less uniform layer of pseudoparenchymatous cells. Ascospores are smooth and thick-walled. Its optimum temperature for growth is 49-50 degree C and it grows best at pH 3.5-4.0. |
