Long-Path Infrared Spectroscopic Investigation at Ambient Concentrations of the 2% Neutral Buffered Potassium Iodide Method for Determinatin of Ozone
Ambient levels of ozone are measured simultaneously by infrared and the 2% neutral buffered potassium iodide impinger methods. Depending on the relative humidity, the 2% buffered method yields ozone concentrations 12-25% higher than those from the absolute spectroscopic determinations. Uniform adopt...

Summary: | Ambient levels of ozone are measured simultaneously by infrared and the 2% neutral buffered potassium iodide impinger methods. Depending on the relative humidity, the 2% buffered method yields ozone concentrations 12-25% higher than those from the absolute spectroscopic determinations. Uniform adoption of one or more methods by state, local, and federal agencies, and abandonment of the wet chemical potassium iodide methods seem necessary and desirable. |
