Description
Summary:Understanding the morphogenesis and structural heterogeneity of flyash permits an evaluation of potential health hazards of coal combustion. Physical and chemical properties of size-classified coal flyash collected downstream of an electrostatic precipitator in stack breeching of a power plant using low sulfur, high ash coal are characterized. A morphogenesis scheme is developed on the basis of light microscopic evaluation of particle shape and opacity.
