Direct transition of pGA482:ipt plasmid bearing the cytokinin biosynthesis gene into the cells of phototrophic purple bacteria Rhodobacter sphaeroides and Rhodopseudomonas palustris by electroporation

This is the first study to perform a direct transfer of the pGA482:ipt plasmid (14.6 kb) bearing the cytokinin biosynthesis gene into the cells of phototrophic purple bacteria Rhodopseudomonas palustris and Rhodobacter sphaeroides by electroporation. Description
Summary:This is the first study to perform a direct transfer of the pGA482:ipt plasmid (14.6 kb) bearing the cytokinin biosynthesis gene into the cells of phototrophic purple bacteria Rhodopseudomonas palustris and Rhodobacter sphaeroides by electroporation. The use of this method made it possible to reduce the pro cess of selection of transformed PPB cells by 10 to 14 days. It is also shown for the first time that not only short DNA fragments but also large plasmids, such as pGA482:ipt, can be directly transferred to PPB cells by electroporation.
