Effect of pesticide formulation on transmission: a comparison of three formulations

The transmission of dust, spray, and liquid pesticide formulations through selected fabrics is reported. Ten pesticides and three fabrics representing a 100% cotton twill weave construction, a 100% cotton plain weave, and a 65/35 polyester plain weave were tested. The liquid carrier present in the l...

Description
Summary:The transmission of dust, spray, and liquid pesticide formulations through selected fabrics is reported. Ten pesticides and three fabrics representing a 100% cotton twill weave construction, a 100% cotton plain weave, and a 65/35 polyester plain weave were tested. The liquid carrier present in the liquid and spray formulations influenced pesticide transmission through the fabrics. The twill fabric allowed for less transmission than the other two, but the cotton plain weave allowed for less transmission than the blend. Dust pesticide formulation did not transmit through fabrics as readily as liquid and spray formulations.
