Xylanase and β-xylosidase production by Aspergillus niger NCIM 1207
Aspergillus niger NCIM 1207 producing significantly high levels of beta -glucosidase was found to secrete hemicellulolytic enzymes (xylanase and beta -xylosidase) in the culture medium. High yields of beta -xylosidase were obtained when it was grown on either xylan (3%) or wheat bran (4%). Cellulose...

Summary: | Aspergillus niger NCIM 1207 producing significantly high levels of beta -glucosidase was found to secrete hemicellulolytic enzymes (xylanase and beta -xylosidase) in the culture medium. High yields of beta -xylosidase were obtained when it was grown on either xylan (3%) or wheat bran (4%). Cellulose was a poor inducer of beta -xylosidase. The pH and temperature optima for beta -xylosidase were 4.5 and 65 degree C respectively. |
