Summary:The results are given of in vivo and in vitro bioassay and air monitoring at three Brazilian facilities: a monazite sand extraction plant, a thorium concentration plant and a gas mantle factory. In all cases the worker's intakes of thorium isotopes were evaluated by alpha spectrometry of faeces samples and by measurements in a whole-body counter facility. Air monitoring was performed using a six-stage cascade impactor.
