Description
Summary:HOTAIR is a known long non-coding RNA which has recently been associated with the progression of some cancer types. It has been reported that HOTAIR expression is correlated with SUZ 12 expression level and therefore may affect the epigenetic state of cancer tissues. Here, we found aberrant up-regulation of HOTAIR in gastric adenocarcinoma samples compared with normal adjacent gastric epithelium tissues. Besides, we found that the aberrant expression of HOTAIR was associated with TNM staging and lymph node metastasis of gastric tumors. Here, a potential cooperative expression between HOTAIR and SUZ 12 genes in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues is deduced. This result suggests a role for HOTAIR long non-coding RNA in gastric cancer progression.
