Summary: | The influence of suration of exposure to cadmium on the blood Cd level was examined in teachers and school children in Zagreb, Yugoslavia. Blood Cd levels in adult nonsmokers were 2.5-3 times higher compared with levels in children. Since the current environmental exposure to Cd can be regarded as being comparable in the two groups, it appears that more than 60% of the blood Cd level in adults could be attributed to the influence of long-term integrated exposure. |
