Multiple second-harmonic waves in a nonlinear photonic crystal with fractal structure

We report the first poling fabrication of high quality LiNbO 3 nonlinear photonic crystal with H-shaped fractal superlattice. Due to the self-similarity character of this structure, the collinear quasi-phase matched second-harmonics at 10 wavelengths, such as 674, 592, 577, 544, 517, and 499 nm, hav...

Description
Summary:We report the first poling fabrication of high quality LiNbO 3 nonlinear photonic crystal with H-shaped fractal superlattice. Due to the self-similarity character of this structure, the collinear quasi-phase matched second-harmonics at 10 wavelengths, such as 674, 592, 577, 544, 517, and 499 nm, have been achieved in one crystal. Especially, for 499 nm second-harmonic laser spot, the normalized conversion efficiency can be as high as 0.53 %/mW.
