Description
Summary:The authors have developed software for the Apple II microcomputer to estimate species abundances directly in real time, without complicated hardware. The Apple II is the most common graphics and text processor in microbiology laboratories. With this program, up to 40 species may be directly tallied using a numeric keypad, joystick, or keyboard. The software allows you to input sample parameters efficiently, displays ongoing counts on the screen, and instantly calculates species abundances and other statistics for video display or hardcopy. A microscopist using the program need not interrupt viewing to tally counts manually or reset mechanical counters.
