Summary:Highlights • GPEDs are often associated with encephalitis and/or status epilepticus secondary to the other causes. • GPEDs can be seen during the course of SE treatment and resolved by the additional use of anticonvulsant medications. • Seizure recurrence was noted in more than 50% of patients following the emergence of GPEDs on EEG. • One fourth of children with GPEDs had fatal outcome, and remaining had mild to moderate disability.
