Summary: | Frame House in Holland Park, London has been designed throughout by Jonathan Tuckey Design as a remodelled historic building. The front facade is rebuilt to restate the house's continuity with the surrounding mews; the first floor is divided to provide a sense of the original compartmentalisation, while the ground floor has been divided to retain a sense of the former stables; the internal roof insulation is now placed externally in order to expose the original roof timbers, while interior surfaces are sparse and utilitarian in keeping with the idea of a working mews. Include a working detail of the staircase. |
