Summary: | Pesticide residues were measured on leaves collected from greenhouse crops at various locations on the plant and at various time intervals after application. Half-life estimates for the pesticides were estimated and are tabulated for abamectin, bitertanol, chlorothanonil, dichlorvos, mancozeb, methiocarb, methomyl, propoxur, and thiophanate-methyl. Half-lives ranged from 0.2 days to 41 days for dichlorvos and thiophanate-methyl, respectively. Pesticide dissipation in the greenhouse can be very different from dissipation in open fields. In the absence of other data, the median half life of 4 days can be used to determine reentry time for greenhouse workers. A more conservative reentry time of 9 days could also be used, since this is the confidence interval upper limit. |
