Description
Summary:This study assessed the knowledge of graduate nursing students regarding family meal benefits, and their observations focused on the work of clinical preceptors in the area of family meal assessment and education. Most students believed in the benefits of family meals, especially students with children. They did not observe their preceptors assess or educate families on a consistent basis regarding frequency and benefits of frequent healthy family meals. Frequent healthy family meals have a positive impact on heathy eating and behavioral well-being of children and youth. Recommendations are made for this topic to be included in graduate nursing education.
