Description
Summary:In this study, an oil shale sample from the Ellujjun deposit, in the central part of Jordan, was gasified in relation to the bed temperature and type of fluidising gas using a continuous feed fluidised bed reactor. The composition, quantity and calorific value of the generated gas were determined. There was a nearly linear increase in the amount of fuel gas produced as a function of temperature, reaching ∼350 kg (i.e. 318 m 3) per tonne of dry raw shale, and the gross calorific value ranged from 15 to 23 MJ kg −1 with carbon monoxide and hydrogen being the major constituents.
