Description
Summary:The historic evolution of Society & Natural Resources Journal (SNR) reflects the growing division between the fields of natural resources sociology and environmental sociology. While SNR continues to evaluate papers from both disciplines with equanimity, the distinction between the disciplines has been increasingly reflected in the content of the papers. Two forums held on the division of the disciplines attracted wide audiences and perspectives. An overview of viewpoints identified little relationship between individual views about whether the fields should be distinguished and ideological identity. Although feelings were strong on all sides of the issues, those who fell in the middle range were most likely to work in developing nations.
