Modeling the Design and Performance Characteristics of Solar Steam-Jet Cooling for Comfort Air Conditioning
The performance of low-pressure, low-temperature solar steam-jet cooling cycles for comfort air-conditioning is modeled. Summary: | The performance of low-pressure, low-temperature solar steam-jet cooling cycles for comfort air-conditioning is modeled. Cycle performance and supersonic flow conditions in the convergent-divergent nozzle are analyzed, as are flow conditions in the preceding supersonic and subsonic diffusers. Ambient air may be used to cool the condenser, and single-glazed, black-coated flat plate collectors can serve as the heat source. A set of design charts for the solar steam-jet cooling cycle and for selection of ejector dimensions is presented. |
