Summary: | The development of a mathematical model for calculating noise transmission inside buildings is detailed, which uses the Green Ray Integral Model approach. All governing numerical equations are provided, and results are presented from an evaluation of the model using in situ measurements carried out in a house near Orly Airport, France. Good agreement is shown between simulation results and measurements in the case of single glazed windows. The simulation results show that sound transmission is affected significantly by the angle of incidence of incoming waves. |
