Description
Summary:Preliminary results are tabulated on the concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in mussels (Mytilus edulis) and fish in the Finnish Archipelago sea; a map of the area showing sampling sites is included. The fish species examined were herring (Clupea harengur), a migrating pelagic species, and 2 bottom-living species, namely pike-perch (Stizostedion lucioperca) and burbot (Lota lota). The PAH concentrations found were low. The results are compared with those reported by other investigators for other areas.
