Description
Summary:Scientists developed a methodology for the direct fourth derivative spectrophotometric determination of the fungicide Ziram (zinc(II) dimethyldithiocarbamate). The targeted compound is first converted into its copper(II) dimethyldithiocarbamate complex, which is subsequently dissolved in Triton X-100. Evidence indicated that the process obeys Beer's law for concentrations in the range of 0.5-30 mu g/mL in the final solution. Data are reported detailing the influences of diverse experimental parameters, including the impacts of pH and the interference of a number of ions. Researchers concluded that the approach is useful for characterization of Ziram in commercial samples that contain Ziram and in wheat grains.
