Summary:Listeria monocytogenes is becoming a commonly recognized pathogen in renal transplant recipients. It frequently causes meningitis, meningoencephalitis, and primary bacteremia. Infectious arthritis occurs infrequently in the renal transplant patient. The following presentation reports the first case of L. monocytogenes causing infectious arthritis of a prosthetic joint in a renal transplant patient.
