Production of colominic acid by Pasteurella haemolytica serotype A2 organism

Using chemical analysis and super(13)C-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, capsular polysaccharide purified from culture supernatants of a strain of Pasteurella haemolytica serotype A2 was shown to consist of a (2 arrow right 8)- alpha -linked polymer of N-acetylneuraminic acid.
