Description
Summary:The large number of field and the increasing involvement of the British Government are likely to lead to pressure for a pipeline routing and planning policy in the North Sea. This paper discusses a modelling technique for simulating possible configurations of fields, pipelines and landing points and a method of optimizing the results. The technique is in a preliminary form and more research will be needed before the results can be applied to the real situation, including allowing for decisions already made on pipelines and shore stations.
