Summary: | Ultrasound is the gold standard of gallbladder im- aging, but when the gallbladder appears abnormal on preoperative sonographic imaging studies, MRCP rep- resents an ideal complementary tool. Besides excluding the concomitant lithiasis of the common bile duct, MRCP imaging allows accurate visualization of the intra- and extrahepatic biliary tracts and can reveal a greater number of anatomical variations. |
