Summary:A convenient method using the Strickler-Berg equation is described for the determination of fluorescence lifetimes for axially substituted silicon phthalocyanines. By utilising only the absorption and emission spectra of these compounds it is possible to determine the fluorescence lifetimes to within 10% accuracy.
