Summary: | Results are analyzed for operation of bottom linings of circulation degassers of the OAO MMK oxygen-converter workshop. The main reasons are revealed for lining breakdown, such as impregnation of objects with slag and metal, chemical attack during reaction with slag, and thermal spalling of a refractory working surface due to a change in lining temperature during operation. In order to improve refractory operating properties it is necessary to resolve the problem of heat and corrosion resistance of the materials used. The main measures are aimed at improving the cyclic operation of degassers, and also choice of optimum slag composition, promoting formation of a surface skull during lining operation. |
