Description
Summary:Absolute atomic transition probabilities from a combination of new emission branching fraction measurements using Fourier transform spectrometer data with radiative lifetimes from recent laser induced fluorescence measurements are reported for 299 lines of the first spectrum of samarium (Sm i). Improved values for the upper and lower energy levels of these lines are also reported. Comparisons to published transition probabilities from earlier experiments show satisfactory and good agreement with two of the four published data sets.
