Patterns of base usage, nearest neighbour analysis and identification of genes in two completely sequenced chloroplast genomes

A detailed analysis of the tobacco and liverwort chloroplast genomes is reported. The doublet properties of the entire genomes, protein genes, ribosomal protein genes, tDNA, rDNA, introns, non-coding regions and unidentified repeats does not significantly change the doublet properties of these genom...

Description
Summary:A detailed analysis of the tobacco and liverwort chloroplast genomes is reported. The doublet properties of the entire genomes, protein genes, ribosomal protein genes, tDNA, rDNA, introns, non-coding regions and unidentified repeats does not significantly change the doublet properties of these genomes, suggesting that these properties are not due to presence of inverted repeats. Several unidentified reading frames in both tobacco and liverwort are predicted to be genes.
