Summary: | Nuclear power plants in the U.S. have traditionally had data logging capability which translated and stored information in analog or digital form. However, the conventional display of information during complex plant events can be confusing. The March 1979 accident at Three Mile Island, PA, highlights the limitations of such systems for management of complex and potentially severe events. Advanced process and information management schemes for Nuclear Power Plant operation and monitoring are proposed. |
