Metriocnemus (Diptera: Chironomidae)--an ecological survey and description of a new species

Metriocnemus yaquina from Oregon coastal rock pools is described in all life history stages as new to science. The generic diagnosis of Metriocnemus is emended and the disparate larval ecologies exhibited within the genus are reviewed and supplemented.
