Summary: | Experiments performed to test the recently claimed observations of cold fusion are described. Three trials evaluated an electrochemical cell with a palladium wire cathode; two vacuum-cast Pd disks as cathodes in twin cells, one with water and the other with deuterium oxide; and production of charged particles using a silicon surface barrier detector viewing the back of a 76- mu m thick Pd foil cathode. No statistically significant evidence of nuclear fusion was obtained in any of these experiments. |
