Summary: | Here we demonstrate that elimination of ClaI restriction site from the sequence of a plasmid DNA increases the efficiency of transformation of Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 significantly. To achieve reliable transformation of S. oneidensis MR-1 plasmids either lacking ClaI site or isolated from primary transformants of S. oneidensis should be used.
